These top selling books span multiple centuries, covering many genres and original languages. I hate to say it but I was very disappointed with this installment in the series. Conceptually I like the series in general but have found the last couple of books somehow lacking. So far this has been the weakest of the bunch. Ralph is mentioned a lot in earlier books but now that he had his own book I expected to get to know him better, instead we're told the story from Libby's side of things. This makes Ralph pretty cookie-cutter and unfortunately he feels strangely generic.
All books are in clear copy here, and all files are secure so don't worry about it. And some people fall in love with books about falling in love. No community reviews have been submitted for this work. And I was still unnerved by the animal cries. I listened for the howls, relieved when I heard nothing but the wind rattling the branches above me.

While other readers might find his attraction to Libby plausible I saw no actual reason for him to be drawn to her outside of her paranormal gifts. For me if the hero and heroine don't feel well matched I have a hard time enjoying a romance. For the last few months, stories about Broken Heart, Oklahoma, had circulated among paranormal investigators. Everything from sightings of Bigfoot to tales of flying men had been bandied about until my parents could no longer resist the challenge. They'd spent the last twenty-five years trying to prove the existence of vampires, werewolves, Bigfoot, angels, aliens, other dimensions, and all kinds of supernatural phenomenon. In 1983 they started Paranormal Research and Investigation Services, aka PRIS.
The action was a little choppy and jarring in a few places, had trouble keeping track of who was doing what, but a great book. Single mom and hair salon owner Patsy Donahue, still getting acclimated to her new vampire lifestyle, tries to rein in her wild teenage son while trying to deny her attraction to a rogue shape-shifter. I hugged the large oak tree as I tried to catch my breath.

I started calling myself Libby at the age of ten, much to Mom's disappointment. However, my parents were all about free expression and independent thinking. If their only child desired to be called Libby, that desire would be honored. Also, I again was bothered by the constant references to other contemporary tv shows and novels. It made me feel like I was again reading fan fiction, rather then a well done novel. I like very much that there was a change in the style of this book a little bit compares to the first 3.
I normally find the "paranormal investigator" thing and annoyance in books at times. But I think she did a good job with it in this one. It was a bit worrisome at first to say the least for me.
I find the idea of a soul shifter pretty intriguing and look forward to what she does with her in later books in the series, even though my library fails at having anymore of her books. You know from previous books that those characters are actually badass, but her comments let you poke a little fun at them for the moment. It may be meanish, but I found the idea of vegan Libby being turned into a dragon who wanted meat ... I loved how she had mental comments about the stinky stuff people chose to wear when they wore leather. It is hard to think of someone as a badass when they're wearing something that "smells." I was wondering what she was going to do with Ralph and I like what she did.
Onlythe town is being torn in two by a war between the undead—and Libby may be the only thing thatcan hold Broken Heart together... I never expected to fall in lust, but Ralph Genessa is too irresistible. Being a vampire, he should be, but for some reason, his glamour doesn’t work on me. The fact that he’s the loving, sexy father of twin toddlers is what wins me over.
Ahhhhh I just loved reading this book. I just fell in love with Libby and Ralph and I was just so sad to turn the last page. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
